Thistle confirm tribute to “Ten Thirty” Bertie Auld

Partick Thistle FC will pay tribute to the life of two-time former manager Bertie Auld before, during and after this Friday’s Scottish Cup fixture against Dunfermline Athletic at Firhill.

We will give supporters the opportunity to lay scarves and any other tributes in Bertie’s memory, at the stadium on Friday. This will take place around halfway up McParland Way (the South Drive) and begin at 10.30am when chief executive Gerry Britton will leave the first tribute on behalf of all at Partick Thistle Football Club. Fans are thereafter welcome to leave their own tributes throughout the day ahead of kick-off. All tributes left will be safely collected following the match and gifted to the Auld family and Partick Thistle Charitable Trust.

The club will then hold a minute’s applause prior to kick-off, which is at 7.45pm, with the Thistle first team wearing black armbands for the duration of this match in Bertie’s memory.

Finally, following the game we are inviting all fans to raise a glass at 10.30pm and toast Bertie – #TenThirtyForBertie. Whether you are in the Aitken Suite or Alan Rough Lounge, the Woody or Munns, or have been watching the game from home, all Thistle supporters – and those of other clubs with an affection for Bertie – are encouraged to join us in a special toast for a special man. This will take place at 10.30pm, as a nod to Bertie’s nickname, Ten Thirty.

The thoughts of everyone at Partick Thistle Football Club continue to be with the Auld family and Bertie’s closest friends and former colleagues at this difficult time.
