Partick Thistle Football Club is delighted to announce that, with the help of Her Game Too, we will be marking International Women’s Week on the day of our game against Raith Rovers at Firhill on 4th March.
The Her Game Too movement was started with the aim of eradicating sexism in football to create a more welcoming and inclusive environment in the sport – a sentiment which is echoed by everyone at Firhill.
The activity on the day will begin before the game with a pre-match meet-up with some of the women involved in the campaign including PTFC Her Game Too Ambassador Heather Holloway – anyone interested in learning more about Her Game Too is welcome to pop in.
The presence of Her Game Too will be evident around the ground with campaign posters on the wall in various areas of the stadium including some with QR codes which will provide instructions on how to report sexist abuse.
Furthermore, our ball attendants will be displaying a Her Game Too flag as the teams come out for the match led by all-girl mascots and we’ll have a female stadium announcer providing all the key information throughout matchday.
Lastly, players from the Partick Thistle Women’s team will also be helping us mark the occasion with members of the squad visiting the Aitken Suite and hospitality lounge pre-match before joining the usual first team players in the PlayerZone after the full-time whistle.
We hope to see as many female fans as possible at the game against Raith Rovers as we celebrate International Women’s Week which begins on Saturday 4th March and carries through to International Women’s Day which takes place on 8th March.
