Partick Thistle FC was proud to recently reveal a unique painting created by renowned artist Ben Mosley, as part of our 1921 and 1971 celebrations this year.
Ben’s original artwork, celebrating both cup wins, features incredible attention to detail including the subtle listing of all the names on the pitch on each cup final day, as well as all the scores on the road to winning the respective cups. The 100x100cm work is in Acrylic but is enhanced by the use of 24 carat gold paint.
We are reissuing our information relating to fan opportunities to purchase prints and posters of the amazing Ben Mosley original painting “Thistle’s Titans”.
The first 21 posters were to be sold for £10 as an early bird offer, but £21 thereafter. Unfortunately, that wasn’t reflected in our original post. When we realised our mistake, we stopped sales when we’d sold 21. We put our hands up and apologise sincerely to fans and Ben – there was no intention to deceive anyone, just human error.
Secondly, the signed prints are 75cms by 75cms, not 1m by 1m as we suggested.
The following is the updated position of what is now back on sale:
This artwork is a first ever venture into Scottish football for Ben, an expressionist artist who has created works for Team GB, Wembley Stadium, Manchester United, Alan Shearer and Ed Sheeran amongst many others.
The Barnsley fan became aware of the Jags’ special year via his friend Ronnie Glavin, one of Thistle’s 1971 heroes and a legend at Oakwell.
*posters are scheduled for delivery in early October.
**prints are scheduled to be signed by the 1971 squad on 23rd October 2021. Anticipated delivery is late October/early November.
