As the first team season really starts to get up and running the end is already in sight for the Thistle Weir Academy squads whose seasons now finish in December. From the under 11s squad right up to the under 16s and Thistle Weir Ladies there has been plenty to celebrate since the games started at the beginning of the year.
This is why, for the very first time, the Club will host a dedicated Academy Awards event to recognise all of the players who have played for Partick Thistle from right across the academy pathway. Hosted in the Nevis Suite at Hampden Park you could hardly ask for a more inspirational venue and with the full first team squad in attendance and a special guest speaker it promises to be a night not to be missed for Jags fans – young and old.
Looking forward to the event, Partick Thistle chief executive Gerry Britton, said:
“It’s set to be an excellent afternoon and everyone involved with the Club and the Academy is really looking forward to it. From the youngest teams right the way through to the ladies team, there have been some wonderful success stories in this Academy season and it’s only right that we recognise all of the hard work put in by the staff, parents and of course the players.
“Although the first team and reserve team awards will this year be presented at the End of Season Ball all the players will be in attendance and will be eager to meet the young talent coming through the ranks of the Thistle Weir Academy.”
Tickets for the event are on sale now but, based on previous years, will be highly sought after with the afternoon likely to be a sell out. So, don’t miss your chance to be part of a really special day.
