The Thistle Weir Ladies play their first home fixture at lunchtime this afternoon after defeating Morton 4-1 last Sunday in their opening league match.
As the senior team continues to grow and develop, the Thistle Weir Youth Academy is starting to move its focus towards ensuring the talent starts to develop at a younger level as it looks to expand the female football pathway.
The TWYA is looking to add an under 13 girl’s team, to the current provision at under 9s and under 11s. This move is part of the long term development plan to have a full tiered pathway for female players, stretching from first team down to nursery level.
This is why the Academy is still recruiting for players and coaches to help shape the future of women’s football at Partick Thistle.
The under 13s side train on a Monday, at the Firhill Complex between 19:00 and 20:30 with matches taking place on Saturday mornings.
For inclusion in the under 13s, girls must be born after 01/01/05
