Thistle’s seven modern apprentices this season are being supported in their quest for career success thanks to long distance but longstanding Jags fan, Alistair Brown.
Now based in Florida, Alistair has been a supporter and sponsor of the club going back decades and was involved with the club during the first John Lambie era in the early 1990s.
Now running a very successful international real estate business, lifelong Jag Alistair continues to retain a keen interest in footballing matters in Maryhill and attends as many matches as possible, most recently our cinch Championship fixture against Cove Rangers when last on home soil.
Having purchased player sponsorships for the club’s four modern apprentices in season 2021/22, as well as taking a 71 Club membership, Alistair went even further this season by backing our seven modern apprentices for season 2022/23: Mason McCready, James Lyon, Zander Mackenzie, Billy Owens, Ben Stanway, Gospel Ocholi and Ji Stevenson.
Partick Thistle CEO Gerry Britton said: “Alistair’s support for the club and in particular our modern apprenticeship programme has been absolutely phenomenal and merit a very special thank you from everyone at Firhill. At the end of last season Alistair took just one of the framed jerseys he was entitled to and offered the rest to Paul McDonald and his team to help raise additional funds for the academy, which was another terrific gesture.
“Like all of our valued player sponsors, we are incredibly grateful to Alistair for his support which is a great boost to the players and an important financial contribution to the club too. We look forward to welcoming Alistair back to Firhill soon when he’s next back in sunny Scotland.”
