Partick Thistle Women’s FC is pleased to announce that Emma Craig, Jade Gallon and Eleanor Smith have agreed to stay with the club for the 2021/22 season as Brian Graham continues to assemble his squad.
Firstly, former Celtic player Emma Craig has signed up for the new season. She joined the club in late 2019 and made her debut in February last year. Emma played 16 times during the 20/21 season scoring her first goal for PTWFC in our home loss to St. Johnstone.
Jade Gallon has also agreed to return to the team for the upcoming season. The central midfielder started 16 games for us last term scoring five goals including a dramatic late winner against Kilmarnock at Rugby Park. Her re-signing means all four of our 20/21 Player of the Year candidates have now committed to the club for 21/22.
Also back for the new season is full-back Eleanor Smith who joined the club ahead of the 2020 season that was never completed. She featured 13 times for Thistle during the 20/21 campaign, scoring three goals including the very first of the season in our 3-0 win over Queen’s Park.
PTWFC manager Brian Graham said:
“I’m happy to get another three of last season’s squad signed up. Most of the core of that team has returned and that continuity can only be good for the coming season.
“I don’t think anyone in the league can match Jade for power and we saw on a number of occasions last season how important that can be.
“Eleanor can play in a number of positions up the wing and can chip in with goals.
“Emma brings a lot of pace to the team and a brilliant set piece that adds a different kind of threat to our attack.”
