Partick Thistle can this afternoon confirm that defender, Tommy Robson, has signed a one-year deal with the Club subject to clearance.
Robson arrives in Maryhill after leaving Falkirk where he spent a season and a half, playing 47 times for the Bairns.
The 23-year-old started out with Darlington as a youngster before moving to Sunderland in 2012. He ended up making one Premier League appearance for the Black Cats, in a 2-2 draw with Watford at Vicarage Road. While at the Stadium of Light, he had a spell on loan at Limerick where he made 17 appearances.
In December 2017, he joined Falkirk on an initial six-month deal before penning a further year’s contract that summer.
Robson is a dynamic left-sided defender who enjoys getting forward to deliver crosses and has experience at left back, left-wing back and left midfield. He will wear number 15 for the 2019/20 season.
After completing the deal, Tommy said:
“I finished up at Falkirk at the end of last season and I was out of contract. I went home then my agent contacted me and said I had a couple of offers up in Scotland and asked if I’d be interested to come back up. Obviously, Partick Thistle was one option and he was telling me about how ambitious the Club was going to be this season, and that’s exactly what I want to be part of.
“At Falkirk last year I played a lot of left-wing back but played left midfield a couple of times too. Left-back I like as well but really it’s anywhere up the left. I love to bomb forward and get crosses into the box.”
