Tomorrow’s Match Programme against Dunfermline Athletic

Dunfermline Athletic are the visitors to the Energy Check Stadium at Firhill tomorrow as Gary Caldwell’s side look to record their fourth home win of the Ladbrokes Championship campaign.

Ahead of the clash with Dunfermline, programme co-editor, Christopher Dobie spoke to Jags defender Tam Scobbie as he explained his route into football.

“I played with Grangemouth Boys Club as a kid and when I was about 12 or so I signed an s-form with Falkirk. That just meant that up until I was 16, I was going to be playing with Falkirk’s academy.

“When you’re that age, you just love playing football for football’s sake. When you get a bit older there might be a bit more pressure to perform but at 12 or 13 you can just play and do the best you can each time you’re on the pitch.

“I would say to any kid, just go out and enjoy it. I think these days, more and more you get people trying to over-coach players at a young age when they should just be playing football and finding their strengths naturally.”
