Partick Thistle FC can today confirm that Tony Weston has returned to Rangers with immediate effect.
The 19-year-old forward arrived on loan from the cinch Premiership side in July, making his debut a day after signing against Kilmarnock in the Premier Sports Cup.
He has featured 18 times in Thistle colours with 17 of those coming off the bench. He scored one goal during his time as a Jag, the third in a 3-0 win over Kelty Hearts at Firhill in the Scottish Cup.
Tony heads back to Ibrox with the best wishes of everyone at the club.
Thistle manager Ian McCall said:
“Tony is a very talented young player and I’m disappointed to see him leave. Admittedly, he probably hasn’t has as many opportunities as he’s deserved this season and for a player at his age, it’s important to be playing.
“We left it up to him because we’d have been happy to keep a hold of him but he’s decided to leave and look for regular football elsewhere. As well as being a good player, he’s a great lad who is well-liked here at Firhill and we all wish him the best going forward.”
