There were three successes for Partick Thistle Charitable Trust at the recent home game against Raith Rovers with a Hospitality Table donated to them by club backers Forrest Precision Engineering, Trust Coach Jonny Brown winning an award and a raffle for a Kingsley shirt raising a very welcome £1000.
Forrest Precision Engineering’s donation of Captain’s Sponsors Hospitality allowed the Trust to invite families along to the game and enjoy some food and drink beforehand as well receiving two signed shirts and two signed balls which were raffled off raising £1,572 for the Trust. Chief Executive Officer Fraser Cromar said: “Partick Thistle Charitable Trust were delighted to be donated a table of hospitality by Forrest Precision Engineering. Some of our Trust Extra Time members, who rely on this programme heavily to support working arrangement and care needs, joined Trust colleagues Jonny and Carolanne at the table.”
“As we all know family days out are a stretch on finances and being able to invite families along to this experience is a memory that will live with them forever. The support given from Partick Thistle as well as Forrest Precision Engineering in making this happen has been mind-blowing and showcases the value the Trust and Club working together makes in our community.”
“At Partick Thistle Charitable Trust our mission is to make positive impacts on people’s lives on a daily basis and this has certainly helped us with that mission.”
Jonny Brown was presented with a McDonalds Maryhill Community Champion Award for his hard work and dedication to the people at the Partick Thistle Charitable Trust with Fraser adding: “Jonny is a young lad with an old head who is fantastic at dealing and supporting parents and service users. He is the first person the kids ask for as they come in and he is always the first to offer support.”
“He genuinely goes out of his way to help others and takes on added responsibility at the drop of a hat and he certainly deserves the recognition he has received.”
The third win for the Trust was an auction of a signed Kingsley shirt that raised £1,000, taking the total raised to just over £2,500 to help them continue with their work in the community with Fraser summing things up by saying: “It was a great day!”
A huge thanks to Greaves Sports who kindly donated the Kingsley strip for auction, which generated the £1,000 in total for PTCT following donations from Gordon Irvine, Caroline and David Mackie and Rebecca Hansen. You can purchase the new Kingsley top at www.greavessports.com
