Location: Glasgow, Scotland

Reports to: Head of Media

Job Type: Full Time – 5 days a week (including weekend working)

Salary: £21-23k pa dependent on experience

Overview:

Reporting to the Head of Media, the Communications Executive at Partick Thistle Football Club plays a key role in implementing the club’s media and communications strategy, as determined by the Head of Media.

This role is heavily focused on content generation across digital platforms, including writing articles, creating digital content, filming, and editing videos. The Communications Executive will produce content that covers both football and commercial aspects of the club, ensuring engaging and high-quality output that aligns with the club’s strategic objectives.

This position requires a creative and proactive individual with strong content creation and digital media skills.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Content Generation

  • Create compelling and engaging content for the club’s digital platforms, including social media channels, the club website, and newsletters.
  • Contribute to articles and news bulletins covering both football-related topics, supporter-related updates and commercial activities.
  • Film and edit videos, including match highlights, player interviews, behind-the-scenes footage, and promotional content.
  • Work closely with Commercial, Hospitality and Heritage departments within the club to present innovative content including sponsorship activations.
  • Work closely with the Club’s graphic designer to produce graphics, infographics, and other visual content to support the club’s communication output.

 

Implementation of Media Strategy

  • Work closely with the Head of Media to understand and implement the club’s media and communications strategy.
  • Ensure all content aligns with the club’s brand voice and strategic objectives.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of media campaigns and initiatives.
  • Monitor content performance and suggest improvements based on data and feedback.

 

Digital Content Management

  • Support with updating the club’s website with fresh and relevant content.
  • Schedule and publish social media posts, ensuring regular and engaging updates for supporters, sponsors and stakeholders across all platforms.
  • Utilize SEO best practices to increase the visibility and reach of online content.
  • Respond to digital trends and adapt content strategies to maximize engagement.

 

Collaboration and Coordination

  • Coordinate with other departments across the club to gather information and create content that supports their initiatives.
  • Work alongside the commercial team to produce content that promotes sponsorships, partnerships, and merchandise opportunities and sales.
  • Collaborate with external agencies and freelancers when necessary to produce high-quality content.
  • Support matchday media operations, including photography, and video coverage.

 

Monitoring and Reporting

  • Track and analyse the performance of digital content using analytics tools.
  • Provide regular reports on content performance, highlighting key metrics and insights.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in digital media and content creation.
  • Make recommendations for content improvements and new initiatives based on data analysis.

 

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Proven experience in content creation, including writing, filming, and editing.
  • Strong proficiency in digital media tools and software, including Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Premiere Pro, After Effects) and content management systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms and digital marketing best practices.
  • Experience in a similar role within the sports industry.
  • Knowledge of football and the commercial aspects of a football club.
  • Experience with SEO and analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics).
  • Creative mindset with a keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required.
