Vacancy: Stadium PA team

We have a unique opportunity for a person or partnership to join the match day entertainment team. Partick Thistle Football Club is looking for a new stadium PA team, made up of a stadium announcer and matchday producer.

Individual candidates as well as existing partnerships will be considered.

Stadium announcer

The PA Announcer is responsible for all supporter orientated communication within the stadium match day, including but not limited to

• All pre match announcements including team line ups
• Announcing scorers, substitutions and additional time as required
• All half time activity
• All other match day activity such as presentations, contests, and other duties as assigned
• Compiling the matchday playlist and running order

The PA announcer is the main voice of Partick thistle Football Club on match days and must be able to build the atmosphere before during and after matches, being more of a host for supporters inside the stadium rather than just “an announcer”.

The successful candidate will work closely with the communications team and matchday safety team to create a fan friendly and entertaining experience in the Energy Check Stadium at Firhill.

Requirements

• Strong vocal talent
• A unique and definitive personality
• Strong knowledge of Scottish football and Partick Thistle a plus
• Ability to multi-task in a stressful environment
• Comfortable announcing to crowds of over 5,000 people on a microphone
• Comfortable working independently and without supervision during match days
• Able to attend all home Thistle games and arrive three hours before kick-off.
• Receptive to both positive and negative feedback
• Ability to be spontaneous and react quickly on own initiative as appropriate
• Experience working as a PA announcer in professional sports / major events is preferred

Matchday producer

You will be responsible for ensuring all pre-match, half-time and full-time music is played as well as working alongside our stadium PA announcer, to ensure all match day activity is delivered in a professional manner. You will also liaise with our Jagzone commentary team to ensure that they know what substitutions, time added on and any activity from the technical area is known in advance.

You’ll have input in to the music played at matches as well as bringing fresh ideas to our half-time activity.

This position would suit someone who is interested in a career in TV / Film / Radio / Events production.

Experience preferred but full training will be provided.

The successful candidate will be required to work at all Partick Thistle home games.
