Partick Thistle Women’s FC are excited to announce the signing of Vhairi Munro ahead of the start of the 2023/24 SWPL season this weekend.
The 20-year-old striker has been in training with the team for much of pre-season and has featured as a trialist in a number of the Jags’ friendlies, setting up our second goal in our win at Sunderland last month.
A former Scotland under 15s player, Munro has spent time with Celtic, Glasgow City and Motherwell in the past though she was most recently playing for Renfrew Ladies in the SWF Championship.
PTWFC manager Brian Graham said: “Vhairi is a player who we’ve had in for a while during pre-season and we’ve liked a lot of what we’ve seen. Despite still being a young player, she’s overcome a couple of pretty significant injuries in her career which says a lot about her character and determination.
“Ross and I see a lot of potential in her and obviously as a striker myself hopefully I can help her reach that potential by passing on my experience and advice whenever I can.”
After signing, Vhairi Munro said: “I’m delighted to officially be a Partick Thistle player. As soon as I came in to train with the squad, I knew this would be a great place for me to play my football and I’m really looking forward to the start of the league season.
“As a team, we have big aims this year and you get the sense around the squad that everyone is pulling in the same direction to achieve those aims.
For me, I’ve just got to get my head down, work hard and play my part for the team.”
