Vote for your PTWFC Player and Young Player of the Year

Voting for the McCrea Financial Services Player of the Year award launched yesterday ahead of this weekend’s End-of-Season Awards Dinner and we’re delighted to say there will also be representation from Partick Thistle Women’s FC on Saturday night!

Although PTWFC will still have their annual awards celebration separately at a later date, we have two special fan-voted Player of the Year prizes for this week.

Read through the two sets of nominees and have your say using the polls below:

PTWFC Young Player of the Year

Tiree Burchill

The arrival of Celtic youth product Tiree Burchill was a very exciting one for the Jags last summer and the forward has put together a very impressive first season in red and yellow. Burchill has scored six goals and set up four with some of the most important including the opener in a 4-0 win over Motherwell at Fir Park and a goal and an assist in a 2-0 home win over Queen’s Park.

Shona Cowan

After finishing last season strongly as a loan player, Shona Cowan turned her move from Hearts into a permanent one for the 2024/25 campaign. Making 19 appearances so far this season including 15 starts, Shona has shown extraordinary versatility as she’s been asked to play at right-back, left-back, centre-half and even in midfield.

Caley Gibb

Now on loan at Hibs as they make a charge for the SWPL title, Caley made a significant impact during her time as a Jag this season. Featuring as a winger and a full-back at different points, she played 22 times all-in-all with three goals and one assist to her name including the opening goal against her former club Spartans in an early-season league clash.

Cara Henderson

The club’s top scorer last season, Cara’s campaign has been disrupted heavily by a knee injury, however, she’s still been a key contributor when available. Thistle’s number nine has scored six times in 22 appearances so far this term with the pick of the bunch being a stunning long-range strike which earned her team a point against Hibernian at Meadowbank.

PTWFC Player of the Year

Amy Bulloch

Boasting a team-high eight assists, Amy Bulloch has been the Jags’ creator-in-chief for much of this season. The midfielder’s set piece deliveries are constant threat for opponents to contend with and the likes of Carla Boyce, Rosie Slater and Cheryl McCulloch have all benefitted from her pinpoint balls into the box.

Jeni Currie

A new face between the sticks for the 2024/25 campaign, Jeni Currie has started the joint-most games in the squad and has played through injury at times for the sake of the team. Currently sitting with five clean sheets, arguably her best performance came in a 1-1 draw with Hearts when a number of impressive saves helped the Jags earn a point in Edinburgh.

Demi Falconer

The Thistle skipper has been her usual uber-consistent self in the heart of the Thistle defence, making 26 total appearances so far this season. Demi leads the team in terms of blocked shots, interceptions and progressive passes played, a signal of her importance to the team’s defensive efforts and build-up play.

Lucy Sinclair

The winner of last season’s Young Player of the Year award has now been nominated for the main prize following another outstanding season in the Thistle engine room. Featuring in 26 out of 27 games this term, Lucy’s boundless energy and commitment in midfield is evidenced by the fact that she’s contested more defensive duels than any of her teammates and is in the top five in the league in that category.
