As part of our World Gaelic Week celebrations, the club will have some special half-time Gaelic language entertainment for fans to enjoy this Friday evening in collaboration with the University of Glasgow’s Gaelic project.
Native Gaelic speaker and talented musician Claire Frances MacNeil will sing live on the pitch during the half-time interval of our cinch Championship fixture against Dunfermline Athletic, which is live on BBC Scotland.
Stadium announcer Derek McLaughlin will introduce Claire Frances before she sings a traditional Gaelic song in front of the Jackie Husband Stand.
Claire Frances visited the Wyre Stadium at Firhill on Wednesday ahead of her performance, meeting Thistle manager Kris Doolan for a quick chat and photo as he wished her good luck.
The live performance is just one World Gaelic Week component to Friday’s match with Gaelic speaking mascots and team announcers also joining in the celebrations.
Partick Thistle FC is proud to support World Gaelic Week 2024, as the first Scottish professional football club to have bilingual English and Gaelic signage in situ around the stadium.
