World Hypertension Day is celebrated every year on 17th May with the aim of educating the public about and increasing awareness of hypertension, which is also commonly known as high blood pressure.
As part of this initiative University of Glasgow, in partnership with NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, will be at Firhill Stadium on Thursday 19th May to offer a free blood pressure check to anyone who visits.
The stall will be set-up at the Jackie Husband Stand and will be performing checks from 9:30am until 1pm.
It will be a bumper day at the stadium because as well as these blood pressure checks, we will also have some of the Partick Thistle Charitable Trust teams playing on the Firhill pitch.
Firstly, from 10am-11am pupils from two local schools, Hollybrook Academy and Abercorn Secondary, will be playing.
Following them, from 12pm-1:30pm the PTCT Thistle Works team will be using the pitch before Accepting Activities participants play from 2pm-4pm.
Fans are encouraged to come along to Firhill to support the teams and get their blood pressure check while they’re here, all free of charge!
