Thistle striker Zak Rudden has been called up to Scot Gemmill’s Scotland Under-21 squad for the side’s two friendly matches against Northern Ireland next month.
The call-up is Zak’s first for the 21s having previously represented his country at Under-16, Under-17 and Under-19 level.
Rudden scored seven goals last season with six of those coming in the final seven matches, earning him the McCrea Mortgages Player of the Month award for April.
Following the news, Thistle manager Ian McCall said:
“Zak worked very hard last season to get himself back on the park and back scoring goals. After we returned from the break earlier this year, Zak showed the quality that he has in front of goal and I’m delighted his efforts have been recognised with this call-up.”
