Alan’s football career began when he was selected to play for his school team, Chatelherault Primary School with current Jags goalkeeping coach Kenny Arthur appearing between the sticks for the side. It was at Low Waters Boy Club, however, where the midfielder honed his footballing talents.
With an impressive footballing C.V. Alan can boast appearances for Hamilton Accies and Rangers, while also giving back to the footballing community, playing amateur football for Albion Thistle FC. He currently plays for the Glasgow Bar Association team in the amateur over 35s league in Glasgow. With almost twenty years of service to Lagerpool, a 5-a-side team based at Powerleague in Hamilton, Alan has had plenty of experience as an attacking midfielder.
Keen to share his wealth of footballing experience to the next generation, Alan currently coaches 2007 boys club Calderglen Thistle FC.
Away from the pitch, Alan is a Director at MacDonald Henderson, a law firm where he is a court lawyer, who leads their Commercial Dispute Resolution team. He has a wide range of experience in law, having started as a criminal defence lawyer before moving to Civil law, Commercial disputes and Insolvency law.
