Alex Samuel joined Partick Thistle on Tuesday, 12th August 2025 as he signed an initial one-year deal with the club holding the option to extend for a further season.
The striker’s career began in his native Wales with Aberystwyth Town where he made his senior debut as a 16-year-old before moving to Swansea City.
While with the Swans, he had loan spells with Greenock Morton and Newport County but would eventually make a permanent switch to Stevenage in 2017.
One season in Hertfordshire was followed by three with Wycombe Wanderers where he would help the Chairboys achieve promotion to the EFL Championship via the play-offs.
He moved to Ross County in 2020 and spent four seasons with the Staggies, playing 64 times in total. His time in the Highlands also included a loan stint at local rivals Inverness Caledonian Thistle.
The forward’s first appearance in Thistle colours came off the bench in a 2-0 win over Ayr United and he went on to back his first goal as a Jag a month later as he fired home the winner against Airdrieonians at The Wyre Stadium at Firhill.
He fought his way into the starting line-up and continued to pile up the goals over the winter months, prompting the club to activate the option to extend his contract in March.
At the end of his debut season in Maryhill, Samuel had bagged 13 goals in 44 games across all competitions, finishing as the club’s top scorer.
