A product of the Thistle Weir Youth Academy, Ben Stanway signed his modern apprenticeship with Partick Thistle on 24th January 2022.
At that point the midfielder had already made his senior debut for the club, featuring as a late substitute against Stranraer in the SPFL Trust Trophy a few months prior. He made his Jags league debut in March 2022 against Hamilton Accies at Firhill.
In search of more first team minutes, Ben joined Airdrieonians on loan for the back end of the 2022/23 campaign playing 18 times and scoring one goal as he helped the Diamonds to promotion via the play-offs.
Stanway came back to Maryhill and impressed early on in the season with impressive displays against the likes of Dundee United, Queen’s Park and Morton. He would score his first Thistle goal in an SPFL Trust Trophy tie against Queen of the South at the Wyre Stadium at Firhill just days after signing a new contract with the club.
He continued to feature heavily for the remainder of the season, playing 37 times in total as the Jags earned a third-placed finish in the cinch Championship.
Contract Expires: Summer 2026
