Blair Alston put pen to paper on a one-year deal at the Wyre Stadium at Firhill on Saturday, 29th July 2023.
The 31-year-old joined the club having left Kilmarnock earlier in the summer following two seasons with the Rugby Park side during which time he played 58 times and scored four goals including a title-winning strike against Arbroath.
Alston started his career with Falkirk, making his professional debut and scoring his first senior goal for the club in separate trips to Firhill during the 2010/11 campaign ultimately spending six seasons in the Bairns’ first team.
After that he had a fruitful stint in the Premiership with St. Johnstone wherein he played just shy of 100 times for the McDiarmid Park side before departing for Hamilton in 2019.
A brief return to Falkirk in 2020 preceded his stay at Kilmarnock where he surpassed 400 career appearances in all competitions.
Blair made his Thistle debut on the day he signed, coming on as a substitute in the Jags’ Viaplay Cup win over The Spartans.
He got his first goal in Jags colours during a ill-tempered game against Greenock Morton at the Wyre Stadium at Firhill, grabbing the winner in the final 15 minutes.
Alston would then score again in his next match, against Queen’s Park in the Scottish Cup – a strike which won the Goal of the Third Round award.
Contract Expires: Summer 2024
