Blair made his professional debut as a 16 year old for Queen’s Park in an away fixture with Montrose in November 2012. His maiden campaign with the Spiders saw him feature almost 20 times before, in 2013/14, he became one of the stars in the young side.
His performances attracted plenty of potential suitors and he made the move to Tannadice, alongside teammates Aidan Connolly and Andrew Robertson, to continue his footballing development.
Blair was a near ever present in the United team last campaign as they just missed out on a return to the Ladbrokes Premiership thanks to a Playoff Final defeat to Hamilton Accies.
The Erskine-born youngster signed with Thistle on the 15th of June 2017 and made his debut in the first competitve fixture of the 2017/18 season as the Jags drew 1-1 with Livingston at the Tony Macaroni Arena.
Blair started his first season in red and yellow wonderfully, netting six times in his first 11 appearances. He scored his first for the Jags in the side’s 5-0 rout of St. Mirren in the Betfred Cup with Spittal scoring a long-range free-kick before grabbing another, later in the match. He also found the net in the Jags’ 2-1 win over Airdrie.
Blair began the league season with some injury troubles but returned to Thistle starting line-up for the team’s 4-3 defeat by Aberdeen where he was involved in all three Thistle goals. He then went on to score Thistle’s first goal of the following three games which all ended as draws.
In total, Blair scored seven times during the 2017/18 season and, having decided to stay at the club through relegation, he began the 18/19 campaign well by setting up the first goal of the new season at Ochilview in a 2-0 win over Stenhousemuir.
He would enter 2019 as Thistle top scorer for the season on five, picking up the McCrea Financial Services Player of the Month award for December.
