Cara Henderson joined PTW ahead of the 22/23 season in what was hailed as a massive coup for Brian Graham’s side. Following her time with Glasgow Women, in which she helped them gain promotion to the SWPL1 winning their coaches’ and players’ player of the season awards,
Henderson made Petershill Park her home. Henderson was immediately adored by Thistle fans, who created an iconic chant to the tune of Magic by Pilot to honour the young forward, as she contributed massively to our historic top 6 finish last season, scoring the goal which secured our spot in a 1-0 win away to Dundee United.
She would later go on to become the club’s top scorer for the 22/23 campaign and picked up our signing of the season award as well as Young Player of the Year
Becoming the first player to sign on for the 23/24 season, Henderson gained the iconic number 9 jersey and, like our gaffer for the men’s team, has been in red hot form as she currently sits as our top scorer.
A hat trick against Dundee United in the opening match of the campaign was just a sign of things to come, earning a nomination for the SWPL1 player of the month for August as a result.
