Chris is, like long-time strike partner Kris Doolan, an acquisition from the junior ranks having been plucked from Kilbirnie Ladeside in the summer of 2009. Chris bagged a double on his debut and certainly proved to be a creative influence as the side continued to improve in the First Division. His strongest season came in 2012/13 when he was one of the strong contenders for league’s Player of the Year as he fired in spectacular and crucial goals to help the side win the First Division title.
Erskine’s form caught the attention of other clubs and he joined Dundee United in the summer of 2013, but he was soon back on loan at Thistle to help the side stay in the division at the first time of asking. A strong season with the Arabs followed in 2014/15 before injury prevented his campaign getting off to a strong start the following year.
In January 2016, he signed a pre-contract agreement to return to Maryhill and Chris immediately picked up where he left off, scoring the club’s opening goal in the 2016/17 Ladbrokes Premiership, a strike which won the club’s goal of the season award.
Chris netted Thistle first competitive goal of the 2017/18 season at Livingston as the Jags drew 1-1 over 90 minutes. He then scored in Thistle first game of the Ladbrokes Premiership season away at Easter Road as the Jags lost 3-1 to the Hibees.
The creative midfielder reached the landmark of 50 goals for the club with a low, ranged effort against Aberdeen in a 4-3 loss and ended the 2017/18 season with seven goals in all competitions.
After deciding to stay with the Club through relegation, Erskine scored his first goal of the 2018/19 season in Thistle’s first home game of the Championship season, against Falkirk in a 2-1 win.
Contract Expires: May 2019
