Ciaran McKenna arrived at Thistle having previously been with Hamilton Accies.
The 22-year-old arrives to bolster Ian McCall’s defensive options, leaving Accies after a year at New Douglas Park. The Glasgow-born centre-half started out as a youth player with Celtic until he left the Hoops to accept a scholarship with Duke University in North Carolina.
He continued his footballing development while in the States firstly playing for the University’s football team and latterly with the Jacksonville Armada under-23s.
He then returned to his homeland in January 2019, joining Falkirk. Ciaran made 17 appearances and scored twice for the Bairns during the second half of the 18/19 season before leaving for Hamilton at the end of the campaign. Opportunities have been more limited with Accies where he’s played eight games since signing last summer.
