Freya Macdonald officially joined Partick Thistle Women’s FC on 30th May 2021 on loan from Rangers.
The defender had played as a trialist in December 2020 before formalising her move in May 2021, making seven appearances in SWPL2.
She then became a fully-fledged Thistle player ahead of the 2021/22 season as we made the step up to the top flight of Scottish women’s football.
Freya would go on to etch her name in PTWFC history as she scored the club’s first winning goal at SWPL1 level when she fired in a late volley against Motherwell to put us 3-2 up. She would go on to score again against the ‘Well when we met in the Biffa Scottish Women’s Cup at the beginning of 2022.
She ended the 2021/22 season having made 31 appearances including 23 starts.
