Joe Cardle signed for Partick Thistle on January 4th 2019, agreeing a six month contract in Maryhill with the option of a further year.
The wide attacker joined the Jags after a short spell with AFC Fylde where he scored two goals in 17 appearances.
Cardle brings plenty of experience to the Energy Check Stadium at Firhill with over 300 Scottish league appearances to his name as well as more than 50 goals.
The Blackpool native has enjoyed spells with Raith Rovers, Ross County and, most significantly, Dunfermline in his career having started out with Port Vale back in 2005.
The attacker has two league title wins to his name with Dunfermline as well as a pair of Challenge Cup successes with Airdrie and Raith Rovers in 2008 and 2014 respectively.
Joe made his Thistle debut as a substitute in a 1-1 draw against Dundee United at Tannadice. He then went on to make his first start as a Jag against Stranraer in the Scottish Cup. During the game, Cardle set up the opener for Aidan Fitzpatrick before scoring the second himself in a 4-1 victory.
The winger would then net the opener in his first league start as the Jags beat Queen of the South 2-1 on January 26th. Unfortuantely, Joe would pick up an injury in that game which sidelined him for a number of weeks.
He returned to the side in early March and continued to provide a creative force from the wide areas with standout moments including his pinpoint assist for Scott McDonald against Dundee United and his comeback-sparking goal in the second half of a 2-1 win over Alloa.
Contract Expires: May 2021
