Lee Ashcroft signed with Partick Thistle on 25th June 2024, on a two-year deal.
The central defender made the switch to the Wyre Stadium at Firhill having left Dundee that week, ending a four year stay at Dens Park.
Originally from Barrhead, just outside of Glasgow, Ashcroft started his senior career at Kilmarnock with his first team debut coming late in the 2012/13 campaign.
He made 71 appearances for Killie before spending four seasons with Dunfermline Athletic where he featured more than 150 times in all competitions.
He left East End Park for Dundee in 2020, getting promoted to the Premiership in his first season at Dens Park; contributing seven goals in 33 games including one in the second leg of the play-off final against his former club Kilmarnock.
Ashcroft was also a key member of the Dundee side that was promoted to the top flight as champions in 2022/23, again scoring in the promotion-clinching game; a 5-3 win over Queen’s Park on the final day of the league season.
He was voted into the PFA Scotland Championship Team of the Year during both of his campaigns in the second tier with the Dee.
Lee’s first campaign as a Thistle player saw him play 40 games overall, becoming a key part of the Jags’ backline as the season progressed.
In the summer of 2025, new Head Coach Mark Wilson handed Ashcroft the captain’s armband following Brian Graham’s departure from the club.
As skipper, the defender played 44 times as Thistle finished second in the Championship and made it to the Premiership play-off final.
