Luke McBeth joined Partick Thistle from Glenafton Athletic for an undisclosed fee on New Year’s Day 2024, signing an 18-month contract.
He arrived in Maryhill having completed a football scholarship in the USA between 2018 and 2022. Starting at Lindenwood University in Missouri, Luke played 32 times netting 12 goals during his Freshman and Sophomore years.
After transferring to Monmouth University in New Jersey, Luke continued to combine his football development with academic studies.
Arriving back in Scotland in late 2022, Luke spent last season on the books of East Kilbride before joining Glenafton Athletic during the summer of 2023.
McBeth came to Maryhill for a month on trial before officially signing for Thistle at the start of 2024, making his Jags debut a couple of days later against Queen’s Park.
He earned his first start for the club during an away trip to Inverness and would go on to start 17 of the final 18 games of the 23/24 campaign including all four of Thistle’s play-off matches. In fact, he scored his first senior goal during those play-offs – a screamer away to Airdrieonians.
Luke put pen to paper on a contract extension shortly after the season’s end, committing himself to the Jags until 2027.
