Mason is a product of the Thistle Weir Youth Academy who joined in 2015, eventually progressing into the first team in 2021 when he signed his modern apprenticeship deal.
The goalkeeper has spent time away from Thistle on loan, most recently with The Spartans in SPFL League 2 where he contributed to a 3rd-placed finish for the Edinburgh side.
McCready put pen to paper on his first professional contract in summer 2023, signing a two-year deal with Kris Doolan’s Jags.
He would go on to make his first team debut for Thistle a year later, coming on as a substitute for David Mitchell in a home Premier Sports Cup group stage defeat to Clyde. Later that week he started his first match for the club away to Premiership side Motherwell in the same competition, keeping a clean sheet and saving a penalty in a bonus point shootout triumph though his side exited the cup in any case.
