Kieran Ngwenya signed for Partick Thistle on a loan deal from Aberdeen on 10th August 2023.
The Glasgow-born defender made the temporary switch to Maryhill off the back of a season on loan with Raith Rovers during which he made 30 appearances for the Kirkcaldy side.
Ngwenya had also spent time on loan with Cove Rangers and Kelty Hearts previously, winning the League Two title with the latter and accumulating 68 first team appearances overall.
On top of that experience at club level, he has represented Malawi at international level having made his debut for them in 2021 against Tanzania.
Kieran made his Thistle debut as a substitute in a Viaplay Cup defeat to Hearts at Tynecastle, making his first start in a 4-0 away league win against Ayr United as he deputised for the suspended Harry Milne.
Subsequently, with Jack McMillan out injured, Ngwenya filled in at right-back for a run of games helping the team to clean sheets against Dunfermline and Inverness along the way. He also set up Tomi Adeloye for a pivotal equaliser against Queen’s Park at Hampden though just a few minutes later he picked up an injury which sidelined him for a number of months.
