Paul McGinn is a player with a vast bank of experience despite being just 26 years old. He began his senior career as a teenager with Queen’s Park before moving on to St. Mirren. The Glasgow-born right-back has since had spells with Dumbarton, Dundee and most recently, Chesterfield.
Defender, Paul joined Thistle on August 31st 2017 to help fill the gap left by injuries at right and left-back. Primarily right-sided Paul has been asked to play on both sides of the defence as a traditional full-back or as a wing-back.
McGinn made his Jags debut in Thistle 2-2 draw with Rangers on the 15th of September 2017 as the Maryhill men got a league result against the Gers for the first time since the mid 90s.
Paul started every game between his Thistle debut and the 20th of January, putting in admirable performances on either side of the Jags’ backline. His industrious showings have made him an important part of an improving Jags rear-guard although with some of his fellow defenders becoming available for selection for the first time in months, McGinn will have a bit more competition at full back for the second half of the season.
Contract Expires: May 2018
