Ryan Scully

Ryan is the youngest ever Thistle player to appear in a match day squad when he sat on the bench, aged 18. for a fixture against Ross County in November 2008.

He has progressed from a youthful goalkeeper to part of the first team squad and made his first team debut for Thistle on the final day of the 2010/2011 season. He kept a clean sheet as Thistle defeated Raith Rovers 3-0 and produced an outstanding performance on his 19th birthday as Thistle won 1-0 at Dundee in October 2011.

The 2012/2013 season was an injury hit one for Ryan, who only managed one start and one substitute appearance. He did, however, gain valuable game time while on loan at Albion Rovers in the second half of the season.

With Thistle being promoted to the SPFL Premiership, he went on loan to League One Dunfermline, reaching the playoff final with the club, losing to rivals Cowdenbeath in the final. His performances saw him sweep the club’s Player of the Year awards.

Ryan signed a new two year contract in the summer of 2014 and he spent 2014/15 back out on loan to Dunfermline. It was a disappointing campaign for the Pars but the performances of Ryan were again recognised as he retained a number of the Player of the Year awards.

The fine form of Tomas Cerny kept Ryan out of the first team picture during the early stage of season 2015/16, but when the goalkeeper suffered an injury Ryan found himself making his first Thistle appearance for almost three years when he featured as a substitute against Hamilton Accies.
