Shea joined Partick Thistle on the 2nd of June 2018 on a season-long loan deal from Motherwell.
The Derryloughan-born midfielder began his professional career at Sheffield United signing a senior deal in 2016 as a 17 year-old.
Now 20, Shea has swapped Yorkshire for Lanarkshire, moving to Motherwell in January 2017 on deadline day of the winter transfer window to become a member of their under 20s squad. He had hoped to make an impact on the Fir Park side’s first team last season but a poorly-timed injury held him back. Shea came to Maryhill looking to get plenty of game time and improve as a player.
Shea made a flying start to his time as a Jag with the midfielder scoring twice inside the first six minutes of his Thistle debut at Stenhousemuir as the Maryhill men ran out 2-0 winners.
The team started the 18/19 season in mixed form, winning five and losing three of their first eight games before Gordon’s season would be unfortunately halted by an injury picked up against Celtic in the Betfred Cup.
The number 14 returned to the side in late March for Thistle’s 3-0 win over Greenock Morton and would go on to start all of the Jags’ final seven games of the campaign; a stretch which saw Gary Caldwell’s side lose just once.
Loan Expires: May 2019
