Tomáš joined the Jags in the summer of 2015 having previously been with Hibernian. After a number of impressive showings in pre-season, the Czech goalkeeper made the number one jersey his own with an outstanding debut season for the club, which culminated in winning the club’s Player of the Year award. The only blight on an otherwise excellent debut season was a foot injury that brought his campaign to an early conclusion.
Černý continued his excellent form into the 2016/17 season making a number of outstanding saves to help the club to a top six finish.
Tomáš started the new season in goals for the Jags but a stomach muscle injury saw him miss three games with Ryan Scully filling in. He did, however, return to the Thistle line-up against Motherwell in September. The ‘keeper was instrumental in earning the Jags’ first league win of the season, with a penalty stop and excellent one-handed save giving Thistle the platform to win the match late on.
Contract Expires: May 2019
