A product of the Thistle Weir Youth Academy, Zander Mackenzie signed with the club as a modern apprentice in May 2022.
The midfielder, who joined the academy at under 12s level, spent time in training with the Thistle first team during the 2021/22 season, latterly going out on loan to Petershill FC.
He made his first team debut on the opening day of the 22/23 term, coming on as a substitute in a 2-1 win over Stenhousemuir. He would go on to make 15 further appearances before the end of the campaign.
In the opening game of the following season he made his first start as a Thistle player, filling in for Jack McMillan at right-back away to Peterhead. He did so again in the following game away to Dundee United winning the Viaplay Sports Man of the Match award for his display in a 2-1 victory.
