PREVIEW:
THE 21 CUP. It’s Scottish Cup day today and the Jags travel to Easter Road hoping that in our 45th year, this might finally be our time. Last year, the first Cup since the end of the Great War, we went out at the third round to Celtic however we face a Hibs side with confidence in Edinburgh after beating them 3-2 at Firhill in October.
MATCH REPORT:
Hibernian 0-0 Partick Thistle Att: 32,000
A hard fought draw, our fourth 0-0 in a row after three goalless league games, means it’s back to Firhill on Tuesday for a replay.
The 32,000 fans packed into Easter Road saw Thistle keeper Kenny Campbell produce a stunning display especially in the second half to keep Hibs out. Jags captain Jimmy McMenemy was again imperious in midfield.
