Partick Thistle has opened a ballot to allow season ticket holders to apply to attend one of our next three home matches, against Ayr United (Dec 29), Morton (Jan 2) and Kilmarnock (Jan 14).
This follows the 500-attendance restriction put in place by the Scottish Government which is effective for three weeks starting on Boxing Day.
At yesterday’s cinch Championship meeting, the club voted to play on through this period. We would much rather do so with more supporters in the stadium. However, we will work with what we have and will be as fair to supporters as we possibly can in what is an impossible situation.
What you should do next
If you are a 2021/22 Partick Thistle season ticket holder, please contact the club to confirm if you wish to attend one of these three games and note your order of preference, if any.
You should also provide names of those season ticket holders you wish to sit next to, with a maximum of three households able to sit together.
Please notify the club by email – – using the email subject “Thistle Fixture Choices”, providing all the above information within your email.
Example: “I am season ticket holder Brian Welsh, my fixture choices are Morton 1, Ayr 2, Kilmarnock no and I wish to sit next to season ticket holders David Welsh and Aileen Welsh”.
If you are unable to email the club, please leave a message on the club’s main phoneline – 0141 579 1971.
Season ticket holders have until 12noon on Tuesday 28 December to inform the club of their preferences.
On the afternoon of Tuesday 28 December, we will allocate tickets firstly for the Ayr United fixture and will notify those entitled to attend, either via email or by phone.
**Any season ticket holder who does not wish to attend any of the three games is encouraged to notify us by email or phone to enable us to fully assess demand. For any season ticket holder not in contact with the club prior to the deadline it will be assumed that they do not wish to attend any of these three fixtures.
Attending a fixture
Within the 500 allocation, a small portion of this is required to be pre-allocated for essential staff, representatives of the opposition, a limited number of hospitality guests and for any contractual obligations.
All Partick Thistle supporters attending any of these three fixtures shall be situated in the Jackie Husband Stand with entry using their season ticket card. Only Partick Thistle supporters will be able to attend.
With the club enjoying the incredible support of more than 2300 season ticket holders this season, it is anticipated roughly half of our season ticket holders will receive access to one of these games.
We appreciate this means that some season ticket holders who apply may be unsuccessful in the ballot, should demand outstrip capacities, and fully appreciate how disappointing this would be.
If not chosen in the rota for any of the three games, these season ticket holders would be prioritised for the next home games should the 500-attendance restriction continue.
All season ticket holders will enjoy free access to the live stream for any game they are not attending.
Message from the club
We know that the latest restrictions, especially at this time of year, have been a real body blow for you all when you would usually be very excited about our festive fixture schedule.
We share that frustration and disappointment. However right now only two things matter to us – your safety and playing football for you.
While watching the football will be a different experience over the next few weeks, keeping you safe remains our priority.
Over the past two difficult years your support has been world class and we know we can count on that support again. Thank you for your patience and understanding while club staff work through the extensive administrative process of allocating these tickets.
Finally but very importantly, we wish all Partick Thistle supporters a very Merry Christmas and look forward to safely welcoming you back to Firhill whether at one of these three fixtures or when restrictions ease again.
