Partick Thistle WFC are delighted to confirm that Cheryl McCulloch has confirmed that she will remain a Partick Thistle player for the upcoming 2023-2024 season.
The former Celtic and Glasgow City player joined Thistle in May 2021 and it very quickly became obvious that Cheryl wasn’t just a defender of the highest quality but also one that demonstrated great leadership qualities.
Those leadership qualities were to the fore in Thistle’s debut SWPL1 season in 2022-2023 with Cheryl making 29 appearances and scoring 3 goals including a Scottish Cup Semi-Final strike against Glasgow City.
A serious injury sustained in a league fixture against Rangers last season prevented Cheryl from adding to her total of 56 Partick Thistle appearances but all at the Club are looking forward to Cheryl adding to that total once her rehabilitation has been completed.
Brian Graham Said: “Cheryl has been a big miss for us since she picked up her injury. We know it’ll still be a while before we are able to get her on the pitch but she’s just as important to us in the dressing room.
It’s important we all stay behind Chez in her recovery and she’ll be about the place as much as possible helping us in other areas while she can’t take her place on the pitch”
Cheryl McCulloch Said: “It’s been frustrating missing out through injury but the club and girls have still kept me as involved as possible.
“I know I have a lot of hard work ahead of me in my recovery but it’s important for me to stay involved with the club and help out in other areas where I can.
Hopefully it won’t be too long before i’m able to be back on the pitch in Red and Yellow”
