Stuart Bannigan is looking forward to the trip to Airdrie as he aims to help Thistle move a step closer to the next round of the Betfred Cup.
After missing a full season through injury the midfielder is back in the heart of the Thistle midfield and feeling great.
Following a 5-0 demolition of St Mirren Bannigan says the squad is going into the game with high confidence.
Speaking to ptfc.co.uk he said: “We go into the game with a lot of confidence. We were disappointed with the performance against Livingston but we blew away St Mirren in the first half and we want to take that into the game.
“We know we have to win the last two games if we are to go through from the group. Livingston are in control in the group but if we can win the last two then there is a good chance we will make it through. We have to start that by beating Airdrie and we have to go and do things right.”
It wasn’t only the result but the performance against St Mirren that delighted many and Stuart is hoping for more of the same
“The last game we really clicked all over the park, we passed the ball well and up top the boys really put on a show.
“We maybe didn’t add goals when we went ahead last season so it’s something we need to do. Hopefully we can do it more often and be a real threat”
Bannigan missed last season with injury but is feeling great and after playing the majority on Saturday after ninety minutes against Livingston he’s improving all the time.
“I’m feeling great. Maybe a few injuries has meant I’ve been flung in a little and it’s forced me to play but I feel like I’m getting better and better each game and it’s great to get so many minutes under my belt.”
Banzo was joined by Abdul Osman in midfield on Saturday but the Thistle captain will miss the match in Tuesday but Bannigan feels we can cope.
“We will miss Abdul being suspended but we have enough cover who can come in and do a job in midfield and we just have to make sure we perform well and do things right. Airdrie won’t make it easy for us and we have to be on our game and not get too carried away after St Mirren.”
