Aaron Cervantes joins on 7-day emergency loan

We can today announce that Rangers goalkeeper Aaron Cervantes has joined the club on a 7-day emergency loan effective immediately, subject to Scottish FA approval.

The California native will go straight into the matchday squad for tomorrow’s Scottish Cup fourth round tie against Airdrieonians with Mason McCready cup-tied due to an appearance in the first round of the competition for Gala Fairydean Rovers.

The 19-year-old ‘stopper, who is a former US youth international, joined Rangers from Orange County in 2020.

Aaron goes straight into the matchday squad for this afternoon’s Scottish Cup tie with Airdrieonians.

Thistle manager, Ian McCall said: “Our thanks go to Rangers for loaning us Aaron on a seven day emergency loan. With Harry Stone being recalled by Hearts earlier this window and Mason McCready cup-tied we were short in the goalkeeping area. Aaron will join up with us and go into the squad for tomorrow’s game.”
