Danny Devine was a disappointed figure after the 1-0 home defeat against Hibs. An unfortunate own goal at the start of the second half saw Thistle defeated and Danny thought the team deserved more from the game.
Speaking to ptfc.co.uk after the game, he said: “We’re disappointed not have taken anything from the game. I thought we played well and performed better than we have in other games.
“It’s gutting to lose it how we did. We probably had the better chances in the game and ended up losing it to a goal like that.
“It shows what happens when you are at that bottom end of the table, things seem to go against you and you don’t get the luck you need. “
Devine, however, was keen to take positives from the game.
“Hibs have some very good players and we made them look ordinary at times. I think we deserved at least a point from the game but it wasn’t to be.
“I think we moved the ball well and kept possession better than we have been just maybe that final ball let us down but we will go away and work on it this week and hopefully put it right next Saturday.”
The result, along with others, leaves Thistle adrift at the bottom but the Thistle defender feels hard work will see that change.
“We just have to roll our sleeves up and get on with it.
“Results went against us elsewhere. We know we aren’t in a good position but we’ve been here before, we’ve got out of it before and we will all work to do that.
“The boys are hurting in there but I’ve no doubt we’ll all work hard and be ready to go again next week.”
Next up is a trip to Kilmarnock and Devine knows the players will give it everything as they prepare for another big game.
“We’ve got a big game against Kilmarnock next week and we will work hard in training this week on what we need to do and put everything into winning next week.”
