At our recent home cinch Championship fixture against Hamilton Accies we welcomed a number of former Thistle players back to Firhill for first phase of the launch of the Partick Thistle Former Players Association.
Announced at last October’s “Lunch With the Legends” event, the creation of the Partick Thistle Former Players Association is aimed at supporting former players of the Club after they have hung up their boots as well as keeping them connected with the Club they served on the pitch.
Although the result on the pitch wasn’t what anyone desired, a very enjoyable afternoon was had by our guests as they visited the Aitken Suite pre-match to chat with Jags supporters and reminisce about those memorable moments from yesteryear. After the game, our former players visited the Alan Rough Lounge catching up with hospitality guests and mingling with members of the 71 Club.
This was just the first opportunity for us to welcome members of the Partick Thistle Former Players Association back to Firhill and we are looking forward to welcoming more former Jags to Firhill for our upcoming cinch Championship fixture against Raith Rovers.
We continue to work to reach out to players who used to pull on the red and yellow to increase membership of our Former Players Association but if you are a former Jag, or know of someone who would like to be included within the Association please contact us on the details below.
