He’s the top football mascot on UK shores and now Kingsley is all in for the 2022/23 season, thanks to Kingsford Capital extending its backing of the yellow hero for another 12 months.
One-of-a-kind Kingsley, who celebrated his seventh birthday just last week, is fully fit and fired up to be front and centre for more fun and games this coming season, which will be his eighth in a row as the ultimate fans favourite at Firhill.
Our Californian friends at Kingsford Capital Management (KCM), fervent supporters of Kingsley since his creation by renowned visual artist David Shrigley in 2015, have today officially extended their support for another year.
Mike Wilkins, Kingsford Capital Management co-founder, said: “There’s a saying in the hedge fund world, ‘Feed your winners.’ Kingsley’s definitely been a winner, though we’re still not sure what he eats.”
David Shrigley added: “I’m delighted that our friends at KCM continue to support Kingsley. He became an icon from the moment he arrived at Firhill, and I am proud of my association with him.”
Gerry Britton, Partick Thistle CEO, said: “We’re absolutely thrilled that Kingsford Capital Management have extended their support of the club and Kingsley for another season, with nobody more pleased by that news than our big yellow friend.
“Since his unforgettable arrival in 2015 and meteoric rise as one of world sport’s most iconic mascots, Kingsley’s appeal has endured and now supporters young and old can look forward to more of his unique antics at Firhill this season. Our thanks to all the team at Kingsford Capital, and to David Shrigley too – here’s hoping the upcoming season is fit for a Kingsley!”
