Partick Thistle Women’s FC is delighted to announce the signing of Imogen Longcake for the remainder of the 2022/23 campaign.
The English midfielder arrives as Thistle look to bolster their ranks ahead of a massive run of fixtures leading into the SWPL1 split.
Imogen is a former Newcastle United and Middlesbrough player and has also recently spent time in the United States with Shippensburg University in Pennsylvania.
Longcake has spent a number of weeks training with the squad and now goes straight into Brian Graham’s squad for the match against Celtic on Sunday.
PTWFC manager Brian Graham said: “I’m delighted to get Imogen tied up as a Partick Thistle player. She is a player I feel will really excite the supporters.
I compare her a lot to Scott Tiffoney for the men’s side, she is extremly quick and very direct, she loves taking players on and I think she will provide a great spark to our attacking options as we enter a really important part of the season.
“She has been traveling up from Carlisle for training and that shows the hunger and commitment she has to play and learn. She has really fitted in with the group which is important when we bring anyone in here. I’m excited to work with her and I know the fans will be to watch her”
Imogen said: “I’m really happy to be a Partick Thistle player. I want to be somewhere where I can learn and improve as a player and having spent a few weeks here training I feel this is the perfect place to do that.
“The girls have been fantastic and they set such high standards in training each and every session, It’s been really enjoyable to be part of that and I can’t wait now to go take that onto the pitch.
“I know I’ll have to work hard to get a place in the team but my aims for the season is to do that and hopefully help the team as much as I can with some goals and assists”
