Phew! What a busy couple of weeks it’s been. First we launched our charity of the year, Beatson Cancer Charity, and then I headed along to the Hampden Snore.
Have I told you about Beatson Cancer Charity? They’re pretty amazing. They work with current and former patients to try and enhance the treatment and overall experience they have when going through such tough times. I’ll be on hand now over the next year to pop in and hopefully raise a few smiles and meet lots of new friends.
One of my good pals, Thorsten Stuckmann came along with me to meet Bella Beatson, the charity’s mascot when we made the announcement. Queensley wasn’t too happy when she saw the photos of me and Bella, but I’m sure she understands.
The following week, when I’d normally be walking about Firhill or hanging with the boys after training, I supported all my friends doing The Hampden Snore. 500 people met to raise awareness of homelessness in Scotland by sleeping pitch-side at the stadium. I’m not going to lie, I’m a bit scared of the dark so didn’t manage to stay the night, but am super proud of everyone that got involved and helped raise money for such a good cause. Well done on all the fundraising!
Finally, my pal David Shrigley was busy this week. He has taken over the Fourth Plinth in Trafalgar Square with a giant thumb! I hope it works for him but why wasn’t it a massive statue of me!?
Now it’s time to put my feet up and enjoy a well-earned cuppa!
As always, keep an eye on my Twitter @ThistleMascot and Facebook to see what else I’m up to.
Bye pals!
