They say it’s not what you know but who you know. I guess that’s why we all had so much fun yesterday at the annual Maryhill Christmas light switch-on. I was asked along by the lovely people at Woodside Community Council but thought, why not get my old pal Santa to come along to see the kids before the big day too?
I gave him a ring (you should see how long my contact list is on my phone) and after a word with Rudolph and the rest of the troops, he decided to fly into Maryhill for the afternoon.
We had the BEST afternoon singing carols, mulled wine for the adults and being as merry as we could. Here’s some of the jolly locals I met.
Santa might have indulged in a few too many mince pies, but the smile on everyone’s’ faces was well worth it. The lights at St George’s Cross also looked pretty spectacular. Now it’s time to concentrate on the next few games coming up and get ready to celebrate my FAVOURITE time of the year with my Thistle boys.
Speak to you soon pals!
