Partick Thistle Women’s FC is pleased to announce that Lauren McGregor has agreed a deal to stay at the club for the upcoming 2022/23 campaign.
The goalkeeper made 26 appearances for the club last season after joining us from Kilmarnock where she had been a stalwart for two and a half years.
She has also previously spent time with Celtic and Glasgow City among others, gathering plenty of top level experience along the way.
Twice nominated for the PTWFC Player of the Month award last term, McGregor’s best performances came in narrow defeats against Rangers and Glasgow City at the back end of 2021.
PTWFC manager Brian Graham said:
“We’re delighted to welcome McGregor back for another season here at Partick Thistle because she’s an important part of our squad on and off the pitch.
“She had an injury near the start of the season that meant she missed some time but she came back and put in some really strong performances for us. I remember games against the top three when we were under a lot of pressure and she was making save after save.”
Lauren McGregor said:
“It’s great to be coming back for a second season at Partick Thistle. My first season at the club was a very enjoyable one and with the group of girls we’ve got and the ambition the club is showing, it’s something I want to continue to be a part of.
“Everyone at the club is hungry to go an improve on what we did last season. All the players have really bought in to the pre-season sessions and come the start of the league campaign, we’ll all be raring to go for another big year.”
