Partick Thistle can today confirm the signing of Juan Alegria on loan from Rangers for the remainder of the 2021/22 season, subject to Scottish FA clearance.
The 19-year-old striker hails from Ibaque, Colombia and signed for the Gers from Finnish side Honka last summer.
Juan’s been featuring for the Rangers B team in the Lowland League this season as well as the SPFL Trust Trophy. Alegria’s standout game of the campaign so far came in the latter of those two competitions against Alloa when he bagged a hat-trick at the Indodrill Stadium to secure a 3-2 victory for his side.
Thistle manager Ian McCall said:
“Juan is an exciting young player who everyone at Rangers have high hopes for, so we’re pleased to add him to the squad for the rest of the season. He’s been playing in the Lowland League with the B team which has given him a taste of what it’s like to play in that competitive senior environment in Scotland.
“With so many games coming up, we thought it was important to add another striker to help share the attacking burden and we’re delighted to be able to get Juan in to do that.”
